Privacy Policy

Effective October 20, 2026

Midwest Sluggers '16 is a volunteer-run youth fastpitch softball team and 501(c)(3) nonprofit. This policy explains what information this website collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. We keep it simple: we only collect what we need to run the team, and we never sell your information.

Information You Give Us

  • Join Us form: your name, email, and (optionally) phone number. If you're asking about playing, also your player's name, birthdate, current team, and positions. This is emailed to our head coach and isn't stored on the website.
  • Become a Sponsor form: your business name, contact name, email, phone, sponsorship level, and message. This is emailed to our head coach and isn't stored on the website.
  • Fundraisers (such as Super Bowl Squares): your name, phone number, and the player you're supporting. These are stored so we can run the fundraiser. Your name and the player you're supporting appear on the public board; your phone number is never shown and is only used to contact you about the fundraiser. Entries are deleted when the board is reset.
  • Uniform voting: your rankings, plus a random ID saved in your browser so each device votes only once. No personal information is collected.

When you submit the Join Us or Become a Sponsor form, we'll send a confirmation email to the address you provide.

Information Collected Automatically

  • Google Analytics uses cookies to tell us how visitors use the site — pages viewed, approximate location, and device and browser type. You can opt out with Google's Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
  • Vercel Web Analytics and Speed Insights collect anonymous page-view and performance data without using cookies.
  • Spam protection: when you submit the Join Us or Become a Sponsor form, we keep a scrambled (hashed) copy of your IP address to limit repeated submissions. It isn't used for anything else and is deleted automatically within a day.

How We Use Information

  • To respond to your questions and requests
  • To contact families about tryouts and roster openings
  • To run fundraisers and work with sponsors
  • To understand how the site is used and improve it

We don't sell, rent, or trade your information. We only share it with the services that run this website — hosting, email, database, and analytics providers — and only as needed for them to do that work.

Our Players

Our roster and schedule pages share players' first names and last initials, jersey numbers, photos, graduation years, and tournament results to celebrate our team. Tournament results come from USSSA's public records. If you're a parent or guardian and would like your player's information or photo changed or removed, just let us know.

Children's Privacy

This website is intended for parents, guardians, fans, and sponsors. We don't knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13 — the player-interest form is meant to be completed by a parent or guardian. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, please contact us and we'll delete it.

Other Websites

This site links to and includes content from other services, including USSSA, GameChanger, Facebook, Google Maps, and our team apparel store, which is run by a third-party provider. Those services have their own privacy policies, and we aren't responsible for how they handle your information.

Your Choices

You can ask us to update or delete any information you've given us. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings at any time.

Changes and Contact

If we change this policy, we'll update it here and change the effective date above. Questions or requests? Reach us through our contact form.
